Onward Easter People: The Truth
I Peter 2: 2-10, Psalm 31: 1-5 and John 14: 1-6
The Rev. Bill Calhoun, a retired Presbyterian pastor living in Denver, serves as a guest preacher at Wellshire May 15, 22 and 29, 2011. The second of his three sermons is "Onward Easter People: The Truth:"
Jesus says, "I am the Truth." What does that way look like as we live as Easter People in the year 2011? Psalm 31 asks for refuge in God. The Epistle speaks of a new people as God’s people. The Gospel lesson connects the dots between our refuge in God and following Jesus into the world as God’s people. That quiet refuge and engaging the world in Christ are two moves of one dynamic through which we are transformed as Easter People.
