Wellshire Church is located at 2999 South Colorado Boulevard in Denver, Colorado. We’re near neighborhoods such as Washington Park (Wash Park), Bonnie Brae, University of Denver (DU), Observatory Park, Greenwood Village and Cherry Hills.
Our church is two blocks north of the intersection at Hampden and Colorado (north of the Wellshire Inn and Golf Course). Specifically, we are on the west side of Colorado Boulevard between Dartmouth and Yale.
For details, see our map and directions.
We have two worship services. While both of our services call upon Presbyterian traditions, each service offers a distinct liturgical and musical experience. Learn more about our:
We have three modest parking lots on the east, west and north sides of our church. When you visit Wellshire Church, you are welcome to park in any our lots.
You also may park on the residential streets to the west of our church. If you use street parking, we simply ask you to be kind to our neighbors and avoid parking in front of any driveways.
Handicap-accessible parking spaces are available in each of our parking lots.
Entrances to the church
You are welcome to enter any door to Wellshire Church. On Sundays, if you’re unsure where you are, please look for greeters to direct you.
The most helpful thing to remember is that our Sanctuary is located at the north end of the building (on the top floor). Our chapel is located in the south end of the building (on the top floor). And the best entrance to the children’s day care and Sunday school area is through our west entrance on the lower level.
Please plan to arrive at Wellshire Church approximately 10 minutes before the start of worship. Our worship times are listed in the upper right corner of this web page. If you arrive late, our ushers can help seat you.
What to wear: comfortable dress
We always try to be a place of grace, so please wear whatever makes you comfortable. If you’re making your first visit and want more clothing guidance, a good place to start is business casual attire. Then, you can adjust from there.
Babies, children and youth
You are welcome to take your family to worship with you. Many of our visitors, though, like to take advantage of our children’s ministry for their young children.
We offer a nursery and child care center during our Sunday morning services for children who are six weeks old up through kindergarten. The babies, toddlers and young children are taken to different rooms, based on their ages, for dedicated activities and supervised play.
Each child care room is staffed by Wellshire staff members who are experts in early childhood development and care. They have undergone fingerprint background checks and CPR certification. In addition, there is generally one adult volunteer from our congregation per room. Each volunteer has undergone a criminal background check as well.
We have a special paging system that allows our staff members to "buzz" you if your child needs you. We request that you sign in your child at drop-off and sign out your child at pick-up.
If you visit Wellshire Church for worship and want to take advantage of our nursery or child care, please:
- Bring a diaper bag or supply bag for your infant or child.
- Arrive a few minutes early to sign in your infant or child.
Children who are in first grade through twelfth grade attend worship. Between worship, they have access to wonderful Sunday school programs at Wellshire Church.
Classes for adults on Sunday mornings
Adults, including visitors, may take Christian education classes at Wellshire on Sunday mornings. Typically, these classes are scheduled from 9:45 am to 10:45 am (between worship services). Most classes are open to everyone. The classes are organized by life stage (20- and 30-somethings; 40- to 60-somethings; and all ages).
Every class has a broad mix of people crossing the intellectual, academic and theological spectrum. Class size may range from eight to 25 people, depending on the day.
If you are unsure where to go to attend class, please ask an usher or greeter. Before you come to class, help yourself to a cup of coffee and grab a name tag (optional). We look forward to seeing you!
