CARING MINISTRIES

Caring ministries at Wellshire Presbyterian Church include many components. Along with pastoral care we have numerous lay care ministries, including the Deacons, the Concern Center, various support groups, and the Stephen Ministry. Wellshire Caring Ministries team coordinates the congregational care aspects of these components.

CONCERN CENTER

The Concern Center, (staffed M-F) provides a ministry of care and connection for those suffering from illness and other life challenges. To make your care concern known, call 303-756-5812. You can help as a Concern Center volunteer by calling the Concern Center.

CONCERN CENTER PRAYER CHAIN

Wellshire members join in intercessory prayer for all who call with requests for prayer support. To request prayers, call the Concern Center at 303-756-5812. To participate in the day or evening phone links of the prayer chain or via e-mail, call the Concern Center at 303-756-5812.

DEACONS

Wellshire Deacons lead through ministries of compassion and service. They serve as Greeters, offer homebound communion and deliver flowers, host a pancake breakfast that raises funds for mission, sponsor “Bring a Friend Sunday,” provide meals for new parents and others who need this support, sponsor share-a-ride to church programs, provide friendship packets for visitors and initiate a variety of service projects. For more information on how you can participate in Deacon’s Ministries, contact Mary Beth Jones.

STEPHEN MINISTRY

In John 15:12, Jesus says, "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." Loving and caring for one another is not just the pastor's job — it's something Jesus calls us all to do! Stephen Ministry is a ministry in which people with special gifts for caring ministry can put those gifts to use in an organized way, bringing Jesus' love and care to those who most need it.

Do you have a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or relative at Wellshire who has been struggling with the loss of a loved one, loneliness, cancer, a layoff, relocation, divorce, a spiritual crisis, recuperating, single parenthood, or any of countless other life challenges? Stephen Ministers can provide them with the focused care, encouragement, and support they need to make it through the crisis.

If know of someone who is hurting, you can leave a voice mail message at 303-758-2233, ext. 251, or
click here to send an e-mail to Wellshire's Stephen Ministry Program. Your message is confidential and will only be received by one of the trained Stephen Ministry Leaders. They can talk with you about how to connect the person you know with one of our Stephen Ministers. It's a great way for you to show how much you care. Is conversation with a Stephen Minister confidential? Yes, however, during supervision, all care receivers are discussed without the use of any names.

Many of the most frequently asked questions are best answered by the Stephen Ministry program website. The following questions have embedded links that will bring up various pages from the Stephen Ministry website to answer the question...
