Jane Ripper
Jane Ripper is celebrating 14 years of music ministry with the Wellshire congregation. She has also been the Principal Accompanist for the Rocky Mountain Children’s Choir since its inaugural 1996 concert season. Jane has served as Director of Music and Organist at churches in Alabama, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Texas. She has performed solo organ and piano recitals and accompanied choral concerts, vocal and instrumental recitals, master classes, and musical productions throughout the United States.
Musical highlights in her career range from directing an intergenerational production of Benjamin Britten’s Noye’s Fludde, performing in orchestras on organ and harpsichord for masterworks from Haydn’s Creation to Honegger’s King David, playing for more than 200 weddings at the Chapel on the Southern Methodist University campus, accompanying for the Choral Arts Singers on tour in Taiwan and South Korea, accompanying in recital Theodore Bikel from Fiddler on the Roof, as well as being the music arranger for 30 performances of The Wizard of Oz at Lindenwood College. Memorable moments with the Wellshire Sanctuary Choir include playing J.S. Bach’s Leipzig Thomaskirche organ during the Germany/Austria tour and singing the Beethoven Mass in C Major at Carnegie Hall.
Jane has won an American Guild of Organists Regional Competition at Drake University and the Gruenstein Women’s Organ Competition at the University of Chicago Rockefeller Chapel. Her degrees include a Master of Music in Organ Performance and a Master of Sacred Music, both from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Simpson College.
