JOY to the WORLD!
2010 Habitat Instructions
Wellshire’s 2010 Habitat Project has begun,in partnership with the Carpenter’s Helpers of the Denver Presbytery…thank you for joining us! This winter/spring build differs a bit from the Xenia project as we are working as a large, bustling Habitat for Humanity COMMUNITY, rather than focused specifically upon the WELLSHIRE community. You’ll see Wellshire workers & ALSO meet many fine new folks! The following will provide some helpful information; dress warmly (EVEN long underwear depending upon the temp) & enjoy the marvelous fellowship. We are thrilled to have your participation in this project; there are work slots available for you and your friends or colleagues; the more the merrier! We hope the following details will help pave the way for a productive journey of faith and work as we help give birth to new homes and a new life for MANY families.
Permission/Release forms can be filled out at the site (please arrive a few minutes early!). THE FULL ADDRESS (for Mapquest purposes) of Habitat’s 24 townhome construction site is:
4350 E. Bails Place, Denver, CO 80222
(near the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and I-25…just down the street from Wellshire) For additional info, please see www.habitatmetrodenver.org
A summary of the “basic” information is…
1) Please wear closed-toe shoes & comfortable old clothes & bring work gloves if you have them. Everything else you will need is at the site – including love & laughter.
2) Bring a sack lunch, a bottle of water and a heart ready to serve to the site from 9 am to 4 pm!
3) If you are unable to work on your day, please call the HABITAT volunteer dept. (303.534/.2929 x. 136) to let them know. We understand. Please do not call the church office.
“I told them that the hand of God had been gracious upon me, and also the words the king had spoken to me. Then they said, “Let us start building!” So they committed themselves to the common good.”
Nehemiah 2:18
I praise God for your energy and willingness to cook, pray, give and get dirty for the sake of Christ’s love!
Truly, grace abounds –
