Rev. Brian Daoust
Brian is our Associate Pastor of Youth, Young Adults and Alternative Worship. He has two primary responsibilities. The first is to shepherd and engage the youth and young people of Wellshire, in worship, education and service to others. The second is to explore with the congregation and new members how we worship and encounter God in our church and world. His formal education includes a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in US History and a minor in Religion: Christianity and Culture. He also has also earned his Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, Virginia, where he focused primarily on pastoral care and ministry to adolescents, young adults and families.
Theologically, Brian is a life-long Presbyterian, Reformed and always reforming. He believes strongly in the radical message of the Gospel to feed the sick, clothe the naked and visit the sick and in prison, as well as the Old Testament mandate to do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God. He believes that youth and young people are specifically called to aid the Church in these goals. These missional beliefs compel him to seek common ground with all believers to be the body of Christ in the world as an active and growing manifestation of God’s love for God’s people.
Brian was born in Austin Texas and grew up in Charlotte metro, North Carolina. He has been married to Ashley for two years, and has moved here most recently from Richmond, VA for his first call. He is passionate about young people, cooking, technology, cinema, music, teaching, worship, enjoying and preserving God’s creation, volunteering and serving others with his wife and walking the dog.
