This SUNDAY is Pentecost!
Pentecost is considered "the birthday of the church;" it was on Pentecost that the Spirit of the Living God created and empowered those first Christians to go out and proclaim the Gospel. Pentecost Sunday promises to be a festive day for Wellshire! The Denver Brass will play, we will have a "birthday cake" and a huge jumper for the children, and you are encouraged to WEAR RED as a symbol of the tongues of fire that burned brightly on Pentecost. Come ready to celebrate! It is also Mother's Day, of course, and we will have the privilege of celebrating the sacrament of baptism in the Sanctuary. Both services will be in the Sanctuary.
