DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE STRIKES HAITI
A major earthquake registering 7.3 struck Haiti on Jan. 12. The epicenter was located 10 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince, striking the region where Beyond Borders and partner organizations are most heavily concentrated.
Donations are being collected to assist with the response to this disaster by going to www.beyondborders.net (earthquake info. is on their home page—and the link to donate small or large gifts).
Beyond Borders is working to coordinate the response with other organizations. If you have specialized medical skills, they may be able to connect you with a group sending teams to Haiti. Please e-mail ddiggs@beyondborders.net and put "medical help" in the subject line. First responders are already in or on their way to Haiti. Assistance will continue to take shape and will be greatly needed in the coming days and weeks.
